Spring is here, and it finally feels like it. Don’t miss out on the beautiful weather because you’re too tired, sore, and stiff to get out and enjoy it. There is something about getting outside that makes us feel more alive. Whether it is gardening, yard work, or getting back to your favorite outdoor workout routine, it just feels good. It’s like the feeling you get when you regain your health and vitality after having lost it. Now when you combine great vitality and a great springtime, you can begin to imagine what great health can really feel like. So, let’s help you rededicate yourself to great health as the spring weather has finally settled in. Let’s start with your diet. How is that going? Are you getting enough fresh fruits and veggies? Organic, locally grown food? Grass fed beef? All these things have research-verified benefits that make you feel better and are scientifically proven to make you healthier. And these days we need to be more and more aware of what foods we consume, because more and more our bodies are being polluted with things we can’t control. For instance, did you know that scientists have found glyphosate (Roundup herbicide) in the blood, urine, and maternal milk of exposed workers? Glyphosate has been found in the urine samples of 93% of people tested, and it is higher in rural areas than urban areas. And while we have been told that glyphosate is harmless to humans by some “experts,” it has been shown to induce breast cancer in humans. It is also very harmful to your gut biome. Knowing that, it just makes sense to eat clean and healthy. Next, think about your exercise levels and workouts. Do you get your heart rate up three to five times a week, even with just a brisk walk after dinner? This alone has been shown to reduce blood sugar levels in diabetics and pre-diabetics. Relying on drugs to make you healthy is very short-sighted and misdirected. There is not a single drug without side effects. Good diet and exercise have no bad side effects, unless you count having to buy new clothes because you lost forty pounds a bad thing. Take advantage of the fresh air; get outside and move! How about your supplements? Have you been told you don’t need them as long as you eat healthy? It sure sounds good, but over 50% of the American population is deficient in at least three vitamins and/or minerals. So be safe and smart, take a quality multivitamin every day. It would be very wise to add extra vitamin D3 and fish oil to strengthen your immune and inflammation control systems, too. And don’t forget that the quality of your supplements is very important. The number one multivitamin for lead content is a specific children’s chewable fashioned after a cartoon character. Finally, remember to see your chiropractor. Doctors of Chiropractic are the only primary care physicians specially trained to bring out the best in your nervous system. Misalignments (subluxations) weaken and block your nervous system from performing at its best. Remember, you can’t always tell when you need a chiropractor any more than you can “feel” high blood pressure! A finely tuned nervous system helps you feel better, heal better, and be better.
