Do you have concerns about your mental health? Are you suffering from low energy, inadequate sleep or are unable to heal from an injury? You may have gone to the doctor and been offered risky medications that you don’t want to rely on to mask your symptoms. You might have even been diagnosed with a condition such as:
High blood pressure
If you’d like to take a more natural approach, Dr. Burtis can help you. With a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition, he has the clinical training and experience to assist you. He can also consult with your medical doctor or specialist to co-manage your case.
On-Site Blood Chemistry Services
When you become a patient with us, you’ll have the option of having a blood test taken. This test looks for early health risks in blood sugar, cholesterol, heart, thyroid health, autoimmune problems, digestive problems, adrenal fatigue, hormonal imbalances and vitamin deficiencies. From this information, we can determine how best to help you.
You’ll come in and have your blood drawn, then sit down with Dr. Burtis. We’ll discuss your goals and expectations. Once we identify your problem, we’ll begin to work on it. Your plan could involve taking supplements, changing your diet or making lifestyle alterations.
You’ll see us for follow-ups to monitor your progress. Though you may see some changes relatively quickly, we want to keep a close eye on your health. We’ll discuss when you need to schedule a visit to see Dr. Burtis again.
If you have records about blood tests, please bring them in with you.
How Gut Problems Happen
One of the most common issues that we see in our office is gut-related difficulties. People wonder why they’re on the rise. Today’s food isn’t like it was 100 years ago. Our gut shuts down from the stress related to processed, inflammatory foods.
The sugar and pesticides add further trouble. Many of our patients benefit from an anti-inflammatory/keto diet. In fact, Dr. Burtis and members of his own family have personally used this approach to lose weight, improve energy, and maximize overall health. If you seek to lose weight as part of your overall health plan, we’ll work with you to create a personalized weight loss plan.
Our Success Stories
One of Dr. Burtis’ patients was a young man who fought against his OCD for his entire life. It took a turn for the worse after being exposed to pesticides. He felt depressed. After a few months of working with Dr. Burtis, the man’s life has changed. He has returned to work and feels his life is no longer in danger.
Another patient drove an hour to see Dr. Burtis. She was diagnosed with thyroid problems and was on medications. After having her blood drawn, we determined she had Hashimoto’s disease, which is an autoimmune disease of the thyroid. With supplementation, she was able to regain her life. Kayaking, canoeing, biking and mountain climbing are all part of this 70-year-old grandmother’s life now!
